40 years on stage, that just wasn't possible without making another CD. First there were 12, then 15 songs that we really wanted to get rid of. In the end there were 18 and we are really happy about this really nice album.

After 2020 was mainly characterized by sitting at home, we went into the recording studio in the summer, keeping a proper distance and always freshly disinfected, and pressed a Christmas special on a CD. A few nice tunes suround two Christmas classics.

It wasn't easy for us to choose just a few from the many beautiful Irish and Scottish pieces. That's why "Straight Ahead" got pretty crowded. Tom Schalla's bagpipes provide acoustic variety between the Irish and Scottish hits.

"American Songs" was recorded at the same time as "Straight Ahead". There are also a number of American songs that have a permanent place in our program. After we had already put some of the Irish songs in our program on CD, it quickly became clear that the American songs shouldn't be neglected either.

After we were only able to include a small selection of the many Irish and Scottish songs on "Straight Ahead", we went for it again on "Back On The Shore". In addition to well-known songs, there are also newer and lesser-known pieces that we particularly like.

“Whiskey In The Jar” is a bit out of our style stylistically. Influenced by circumstances that haven't really been clarified to this day, we met one day in the recording studio to record a hip-hop version of "Whiskey In The Jar". One version became five and so we chose the maxi CD format for this O'Malley outlier.

Our black album offers something for every taste. Because we simply couldn't decide, we quickly put three CDs into this album and gave it a neutral cover. Irish folk fans, American folk lovers and fans of German songs from a wide range of eras will get their money's worth.
